OTAC and the Moving and Handling Show.

The Occupational Therapy Adaptation Conference and Exhibition is a website designed for Occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and support staff, people working within housing (surveyors, architects and technicians), Occupational Therapy students, charities and charitable organisations. It promotes the various conferences and events that OTAC organise, take place specifically for them in hotels throughout the UK.

OTAC also needed another new website to promote a specialism within the occupational therapy field for equipment that handles people, enabling older and disabled people to live independently, which they call The Moving and Handling Show. The website promotes the various events that happen throughout the country and is used to sell exhibition and display space as well as promoting the various activities that go on throughout the day.

The website has a number of specialist areas where the client can go in and add all of the information that they need such as floorplans space available which varies between venues and a way of displaying the various threads of activity that go on throughout the day. The website is a well used and loved by the various conference attendees who can see quite clearly what’s going on during the day and they can plan their days accordingly. The client loves the feedback that they get from the website and how easy it is to use.

Both websites were redeveloped from earlier incantations where the original developer could no longer support the client. Stuart Barrow is an occupational therapist, expert consultant to key service providers within the industry and the managing director of Promoting Independence Limited. He was looking for a reliable partner to take the websites further with some specific customisations that are easy for his team to use and update.
