All our servers run on 100% renewable energy, and we can boast a PUE of 1.12. PUE stands for power usage efficiency, and lower is better.

We provide personal support just for you via your control panel, telephone or email. All our support is UK based and we never outsource it, meaning you’re always speaking to someone who understands our services and platforms inside out. Data centre & hardware
State-of-the-art data centres offer the latest in security technologies and are manned 24/7, ensuring your data and websites are secure and monitored at all times. We have a resilient national network and enterprise level cloud platform so you get the best possible hosting experience. They are based in Reading, UK and Dallas, USA.
The data centre has invested heavily in hardware to ensure optimal performance and a faultless design with no single point of failure. Each server has Dual Intel Xeon Scalable 12-core processors with hyper-threading, presenting 48 logical cores and 64GB DDR4 RAM. All MySQL and MSSQL databases are hosted on the same type of Intel Xeon servers, but with 192GB RAM and SSD storage.
The data centre has an incredibly resilient high performance storage platform utilising 100% SSD storage arrays in a RAID 10 configuration, with battery-backed hardware RAID cards. Storage arrays are then replicated across multiple servers so in the highly unlikely event that disks, arrays or entire servers fail there will be no downtime or impact to your site. We take daily data backups, which are stored at a secured offsite facility. We also run our own bespoke Web Application Firewall that continually monitors and filters out threatening requests before they can even target your website.
FAQ's
Website Hosting Frequently asked questions
Can I install software that isn’t WordPress?
If you think you may want to create a non-WordPress website or install/upload something outside WordPress, our standard Web Hosting plans are a better choice. With our standard plans you can run any software you like and choose from 80+ one-click installs directly from your control panel.
Domain Names
You may already have a domain name so there's usually no need to transfer it to us, however, when you buy a domain name from us you pay the same low price, year on year.
When we also host your domain name the DNS records can be controlled from your control panel: from A and CNAME to TXT and SRV. Our nameservers use Google’s reliable global network to deliver quick responses.
100 Free Mailboxes
Start receiving email at your domain email addresses right away with 100 inclusive 10 GB mailboxes. No need to spend time redirecting everything to another service provider.
Your email is hosted on separate servers to the website, so that any problems or unexpected load from email doesn’t affect the performance of your site.
How can we help you?
We'll take a look at your website and current hosting platform and agree with you a timescale and cost (if any) to transfer your website and email service to us.
WordPress Hosting Service
Why do you use WordPress?
WordPress is open source content management software and currently powers around 35% of all websites on the Internet. The project is contributed to by tens of thousands of developers all over the world and is growing from strength to strength. WordPress allows us to develop flexible and customisable websites to modern standards and observes web development best practices.
Furthermore the community of web developers that use WordPress reaches far and wide and allows us to tap in to this collective intelligence and bring that wealth of experience to your project.
WordPress is often pigeonholed as being ‘for blogs’, when the reality is that you can create any kind of website. Ecommerce sites, galleries, business websites and much more can all be built quickly and easily using WordPress. With tens of thousands of free easily editable themes and feature-adding plugins, you can create a website that stands out from the crowd even if you can’t code.
How do I install WordPress?
We pre-install WordPress for you so you can get started right away. Simply purchase a WordPress package, choose your settings, and you’re all set.
I have an existing WordPress website hosted with another provider, can I transfer it to you?
Yes, we have several different migration options so you can migrate your existing WordPress website to us with minimal fuss straight from your control panel or WordPress dashboard.
Do I still need to update WordPress?
We update the WordPress core for you automatically whenever updates are released. If you install any third party themes or plugins, you’ll need to update them yourself from your WordPress dashboard.
Why WordPress rather than WIX or Squarespace?
WordPress is a self-hosted website builder — that means you’ll use the open-source WordPress software already installed on our WordPress hosting package. Think of it kind of like building your own house on land that you own.
WordPress powers more than 40% of all websites, which makes it by far the most popular way to build a website.
Wix and Squarespace, on the other hand, are hosted website builders, meaning they handle hosting the software for you. In fact, you never need to interact with the underlying software — you just sign up for an account and start building your website. Think of it kind of like buying an apartment in a building with a management company that handles building maintenance for you.
Neither Wix nor Squarespace come near WordPress’s popularity, with each powering just 1.4% of websites. In general, the benefit of the hosted approach (Wix and Squarespace) is simplicity. The benefits of the self-hosted approach (WordPress) are flexibility and ownership.
Why WordPress: You have 100% control over your website. You also get access to the largest theme and plugin marketplaces, which give you tons of flexibility and you can always tweak the underlying code if needed or write your own plugins or themes.
While WordPress isn’t quite as simple as Wix or Squarespace, it’s still certainly something that a casual user can handle.
If you’re a casual user, you could use a visual drag-and-drop page builder plugin to create a similar website building experience to Squarespace and Wix.
However, for developers, you can rely on your HTML, CSS and PHP skills to customize everything about your website. WordPress is also the most flexible option in terms of the sites you can build.
WordPress-specific features
We run a bespoke WordPress platform optimised specifically for WordPress speed and security with lightning fast StackCache caching, MySQL resource handling, and automatic WordPress core updates all backed by fantastic hardware and support.
Automatic WordPress updates: always forget to update WordPress or simply have too many installs? Don’t worry, we automatically update your core WordPress installs with the latest security fixes and new features as soon as they’re released.
Built-in plugin monitoring: our systems are always running checks to identify any potentially abusive plugins and automatically block any that may put your website at risk or have a significant impact on performance.
StackCache: this unique plugin enhances your website caching for consistently quick loading speeds. It works automatically, but you can manage it yourself directly from your
WordPress Tools: create WordPress staging sites in one click and manage your common WordPress tasks from your My20i dashboard.
OWNERSHIP - Keep Control
With a WordPress website you can move the whole website to a different website host if you feel the need to. You can also download complete backups and store them locally.
Finally, you can install a copy of your website on a virtual server running on your own PC, for example using MAMPP depending upon which platform you prefer. This allows you to develop or experiment with changes to the website without having a detrimental effect on your live website. When you are happy with the changes you have made you can simply upload the changed files via SFTP or migrate the whole website to your live hosting platform, replacing the current live website.
