Cadoxton Conservation Group website

GD Graphics were asked to develop a website for a local community group who needed a vehicle to help raise their profile and attract donations to further their work.

The Cadoxton Conservation Group help to protect, promote and preserve the natural environment of the whole of the Cadoxton Conservation Area in Barry, South Wales. Having relied initially on their Facebook page to attract volunteers and donations, the group needed a website as they were applying for grants and financial support from businesses and the local authority. The website is designed to highlight the work of the group and to build credibility and confidence that they are a serious group with a well organised committee, who are dedicated to what they do. It demonstrates that the group plan to be around for many years and that any sponsorship and donations will be publicised. As part of the project we also designed their logo and brand identity.

cadoxton Conservation Group LogoWebsites cater for online searches and when well optimised, will appear in search engine results. Searching for a product or service is a deliberate act by someone with a particular interest in mind. Facebook and social media are great places to promote products and services however, it’s ‘push’ technology. Posts are pushed into timelines, so unless people or their friends have expressed an interest then they are unlikely to see your Facebook page. it’s more of an entertainment medium rather than a research medium. This is an important difference when building credibility. Not everyone has access to Facebook, particularly in a work based environment.

The website features any posts that have been added to the group’s Facebook page so it’s an easy way for non-technical people to update their website. Check out Cadoxton Conservation Group online
